Werkmeister’s is a small family operation in Bullitt County, about twenty miles south of Louisville, growing pine, fir and spruce.
The farm is rebuilding its stand, so most of what is on hand now is pre-cut, with a limited number of farm-grown choose-and-cut trees. Saws are provided, trees are shaken and baled, and there are restrooms on site. A photographer offers five digital images for twenty-five dollars. Trees are forty-five dollars.
It is a Kentucky Proud farm and a member of the Kentucky Christmas Tree Association. There is no website — Facebook is the live channel — and the number is (502) 543-6084. The season is short, so call ahead.
This ring gets better every time somebody tells us about a place. Send it over — the farm’s name, its town, and where a person can buy what it grows. No fee, no ads sold against anybody, and every link points at the farm’s own page.
