Cider Hill sits out on 139th Street on the west side of Kansas City, Kansas — far enough out that it is orchard ground, close enough that it is still inside the city.
Apples are the crop that carries it, and their season runs August through November. Blackberries and cherries come off the same place. What the orchard is known for besides fruit comes out of the kitchen — apple cider donuts, kettle corn, and apple cider slushes.
Hours are posted by season. Through August it is Tuesday to Saturday, nine to five. Once September and October come in they add Sunday afternoons and close Mondays.
