“Local, natural, nutrient-dense products directly to the community”

— their words, off their own page

Sinagra Family Dairy has been in Tangipahoa Parish since the 1990s, family-owned and family-worked. They bottle their own milk on the place — raw, and low-temperature pasteurized — and sell it straight out of a farm store on the farm.

In their own words, what they’re after is to “revitalize the relationship that once existed between farmers and consumers by offering local, natural, nutrient-dense products directly to the community.”

The store keeps two days a week: Mondays and Thursdays, two to six. Eggs, beef, pork, chicken, lamb and beef tallow go across the counter alongside the milk, and the meat and eggs come off local farmers they partner with.

Amite is about an hour north of New Orleans and about an hour north of Baton Rouge, which puts this one in reach of either.
