Durbin Farms Market is the Chilton County peach stand, about forty-five minutes south of Birmingham on 7th Street South in Clanton. Marvin and Mary Durbin started it in 1933; the building it sits in now opened in 1961, and their grandchildren Colby Jones and Lindsey Labovitz run it.
Peaches are the business, but the counter carries seasonal produce, jams and preserves, deli sandwiches and homemade ice cream besides.
It is open eight in the morning to eight at night, every day — which makes it one of the few places on this page you can simply drive up to without checking a calendar first.
