Ring No. 9Price: free

Listed free. Nothing on this page was written by us that the farm didn’t say first.

“Fresh from our Farm to You!”

— their words, off their own page

Blue Gate Farm is Jill Beebout and Sean Skeehan’s small family farm, now in its twenty-first year on multi-generational family land in rural Marion County, with a Chariton mailing address. It is Certified Naturally Grown.

What comes off it: vegetables, fruits, herbs and cut flowers, plus farm-made jams, jellies and seasonings, and handspun and hand-dyed yarns and fibers.

The way most Des Moines people meet it is the delivery — Singlespeed Brewing Co every Saturday from May through October, and every other Wednesday from November through April. They also sell at the Downtown Des Moines Farmers’ Market. The 20-week Bounty Box and the 12-week BLOOMS subscription were both sold out with a waitlist when we checked.
