“Family Owned & Operated Since 1992”
— their words, off their own page
Wills Family Orchard sits about thirty minutes west of Des Moines at Adel, and it has been in the same family since 1992. There are over 3,500 apple trees on the place across twenty varieties.
You can pick apples, organic peaches and, later on, pumpkins. What you don’t pick yourself is in the General Store — pre-picked apples, apple cider, cider donuts and mums. Hayrack rides and a corn maze run in the fall season.
The hours move with the crop: Friday and Saturday, ten to five, through August; then Thursday and Friday ten to five, Saturday nine to six and Sunday noon to six through September and October.
This ring gets better every time somebody tells us about a place. Send it over — the farm’s name, its town, and where a person can buy what it grows. No fee, no ads sold against anybody, and every link points at the farm’s own page.
