Howell’s Greenhouse & Pumpkin Patch is a multi-generation family farm in Madison County, just south of Des Moines at Cumming. Their own line for it is “It’s more than a farm…. It’s an Adventure.”
There are eighteen acres in pumpkins that you pick yourself, an eight-acre corn maze and baby goats. U-pick flowers run alongside, and what isn’t cut fresh goes into dried arrangements. The greenhouse sells plants.
Hours are ten to five most of the year and ten to six through September and October. One thing worth knowing: this is a separate business from Howell Tree Farm next door, even though the two share a road.
