“Our Jerseys Put The Flavor Back In Milk!”
— their words, off their own page
Picket Fence Creamery is an eighty-acre family owned and operated dairy farm, creamery and country store just off Highway 141 at the Woodward exit. Their own line: “Our Jerseys Put The Flavor Back In Milk!”
Milk is bottled on the place — whole, 2% and skim, plus chocolate milk — along with Jersey cream, premium ice cream, cheese curds and creamery butter. Beef and pork come off the farm too.
One thing to be straight about: the milk here is pasteurized on the farm, not raw. We list the creamery in the dairy lane, not as a raw-milk source. The country store also carries foods from more than a hundred other Iowa families, and it is open Monday through Saturday, eight to six.
This ring gets better every time somebody tells us about a place. Send it over — the farm’s name, its town, and where a person can buy what it grows. No fee, no ads sold against anybody, and every link points at the farm’s own page.
