Sixty-eight acres inside the Jackson city limits, which makes it the largest urban farm in Mississippi. Dr. Cindy Ayers-Elliott founded it in 2010 — she came to it out of investment banking with no growing background behind her, and was named one of USA Today’s Mississippi Women of the Year in 2023.
The stated mission is food access for the community, agriculture education for young people, and training for small farmers and ranchers. Specialty crops and vegetables move through the local farmers market and through CSA subscriptions.
There are meat goats and cattle on the place, and agritourism and farm tours run by appointment. No fixed public hours are posted — their own site shows “Today — Closed” — so call 601-910-5534 before you come.
