An hour out of Jackson runs you through five counties and never leaves the state — Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Scott and Copiah. Every farm on this page is in Mississippi, and every one of them carries its real town.
The spread is wider than the word “near” suggests. One farm sits inside the city limits and one is forty-five minutes east at Morton; forty minutes south puts you at Crystal Springs and half an hour north puts you in Madison County. We list the drive with each one so you can decide what an hour means to you.
Two entries carry a season caveat this year and we’ve said so on the row rather than bury it: a March 2026 freeze cost Pecan Hill Farms its regular u-pick season, and Moseley Meadows only opens for fall and Christmas.

Three farms in this ring run pick-your-own, and one of them is having a hard year. Hope Fruit and Berry Farm at Morton, out in Scott County about forty-five minutes east, picks blueberries roughly June 1 into late July and muscadines August into September. Crystal Springs Farm Market in Copiah County, about forty minutes south, has around 1,400 blueberry plants in seven varieties open for picking in season. Pecan Hill Farms at Raymond is the caution: its own u-pick page says a March 2026 freeze took roughly seventy percent of the blueberry crop, so there is no regular 2026 season — pop-up picking days only, with the next full season stated as June 2027.
One farm in this ring advertises it. Lily Pond Acres at Pisgah, in Rankin County about forty-five minutes northeast, runs herdshares for fresh raw milk off their own Butter Patch Jerseys on twenty-eight acres. Shares go through a wait-list form on their website rather than walk-up sales at the barn, so getting on the milk starts with getting on the list. Free range eggs, raw honey and whole meat chickens come off the same place.
Two. Two Dog Farms at Flora, twenty-five minutes northwest, builds its box around its own field-grown produce and fills it out with add-ons from other Mississippi and Louisiana growers; the 2026 Fall share is ten weeks, the week of October 6 through December 10, listed at $340. Foot Print Farms runs CSA subscriptions off sixty-eight acres inside the Jackson city limits — the largest urban farm in the state — and also sells through the local farmers market. A third, Lily Pond Acres, sells a share of a herd rather than a box.
