35 farms listed13 states · 16 rings
One lane, pulled out of every ring in the book.

This is the subscription lane of the Almanac — every farm we’ve listed that will sell you a season instead of an afternoon. You pay up front or week to week, and the farm sets aside a box, a bag, a crate or a share of the herd with your name on it.

It is not all vegetables. A share here might be a certified organic crate, a flower subscription, a quarter of a beef booked to the next processing date, or a raw-milk herd share. Some run twenty-four weeks, some run eight, some run all four seasons. Each line below says what the farm publishes, in the farm’s own terms, and the farm’s page carries the rest.

Grouped by state, then by the city ring the farm sits in. Every farm carries its real town, which is not always the same state as the ring it serves.

Before you sign up

A share is a commitment on both ends. Most of these open enrollment weeks before the first pickup and close it when the plantings are spoken for, so ask early and ask what happens in a bad week — hail, heat, a hard freeze. Where a farm publishes its pickup day, its season or its price, we list it. Where it doesn’t, we say so instead of guessing.

a share?

Vegetables, flowers, eggs, a quarter of a beef, a herd share — if you sell a season ahead of time in one of the states we cover and you’re not on this page, that’s our mistake and we’d like to fix it. Free listing, your links, your words, gone the day you ask.
