An hour out of Memphis in any direction you’d actually drive puts you in three states, and we’re not going to pretend otherwise. Nine of these farms are in Tennessee, three are down in north Mississippi — DeSoto County is closer to the city than half of Shelby is — and one is across the river in Arkansas. Every farm below carries its real town and its real state.
Two of them sit out around Saulsbury, roughly seventy miles east, which is the far edge of the hour. We left them in because what comes off them is worth the drive, and one of them meets you at market in town anyway.

Seven farms in this ring run pick-your-own. Closest in are Windermere Farms & Apiaries, inside the city, and Jones Orchard up at Millington. South of the line in Mississippi there’s Cedar Hill Farm and Bolin Grove Farms, both at Hernando. East it’s Falcon Ridge Farm at Toone and Carmack Family Strawberry Farm at Ripley. One caution: Nesbit Blueberry Farm posted in May 2026 that a March freeze took the crop and it would not open for picking that summer.
Two farms in this ring advertise raw milk through herd shares. The Turner Farmstead at Mason milks A2-tested Jersey cows on rotationally grazed pasture and hands off milk at the farm any day except Sunday — and they do not separate the cream. Chequy Bull Dairy is out at Saulsbury and mostly meets people at market — the Cooper Young farmers market in Memphis every Saturday, and Collierville on Thursday mornings — with orders reserved ahead by email or text.
Three farms, and only two of them let you cut your own. Cedar Hill Farm at Hernando, Mississippi runs choose-and-cut Leyland, Murray, Blue Ice and Smoke cypress, with a limited run of pre-cut Fraser firs. Falcon Ridge Farm at Toone gives you a tractor-drawn wagon ride to the back of the farm to cut yours. Priddy Farms in Bartlett sells pre-cut Noble, Nordmann, Fraser and Douglas fir with wreaths and garland made on site — its own tree page says the choose-and-cut field is out of service while it recovers from freeze damage. The dates move every year, so check before you go.
