“If you’re looking for wholesome food & flowers, you’ve come to the right place!”

— their words, off their own page

Whitton Farms is a specialty-crop farm about forty-five minutes west of Memphis, at Tyronza, and it’s Certified Naturally Grown. Vegetables, fruit, herbs, garden transplants and pecans come off this ground.

The shopping happens in a historic sharecropper cabin on the property. Flowers are cut daily from March into mid-October, and they run eight-week produce and floral subscriptions. Jellies, jams, preserves and pickled goods fill the shelves, and Christmas wreaths come at the end of the year.

The Southern Tenant Farmers Museum is a few minutes away, in Tyronza itself, which makes an afternoon out of a grocery run. Johnny Cash’s boyhood home is farther north, up at Dyess — a drive of its own rather than a detour. No pets on the property. They also sell Saturdays at the Memphis Farmers Market and the Cooper-Young Farmers Market.
