Every farm on this page is in Georgia, but an hour out of Atlanta covers a lot of different country. Southwest of the perimeter you’re at Chattahoochee Hills in thirty-five minutes; northeast you’re climbing Highway 365 toward the mountains; west you’re out past Rockmart in Polk County.
Two rows sit at the far edge of that hour and we’ll say so plainly. Jaemor Farms at Alto is about an hour and fifteen from downtown — under an hour if you already live up in the north metro. Riverview Farms is farther still, up at Ranger in Gordon County, and it stays on the page because it brings the farm to town: Atlanta farmers markets and CSA pickups in and around the city.

More than half of this ring is seasonal — pumpkin gates, cutting fields and picking days all move with the weather, and several of these farms post their opening date and nothing more. Two farms in this ring run pick-your-own. Southern Belle Farm at McDonough, about thirty miles southeast of the city, picks strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and peaches spring through summer, with a zinnia patch to cut from. Jaemor Farms at Alto, up Highway 365, picks strawberries, peaches and blackberries, plus flowers and tulips. One note: Berry Patch Farms at Woodstock is not in this lane on purpose — the farm says its blueberry crop needs about four years of rehabilitation and that it is unsure whether u-pick blueberries will continue.
Two farms, both north of the city. Kinsey Family Farm at Gainesville runs a tractor-drawn wagon out to the cutting field — Fraser, Douglas, Noble, Balsam and Nordmann firs plus cypress, spruce, pine and cedar — and its season opens the weekend before Thanksgiving, with the last tractor run at 5:30pm. Bottoms Christmas Tree Farm at Cumming hands you the saw for trees from four to eleven feet and trucks in fresh-cut Fraser firs from North Carolina, November 21 to December 19, 2026. Both keep pre-cut trees on hand as well.
Three. Carlton Farm at Rockmart advertises raw milk and cultured dairy alongside grass fed beef, lamb, pasture raised pork, pastured poultry and free range eggs — the farm store is open Monday through Saturday, ten to six, and they also run farm-to-door delivery and pop-up pickup points around metro Atlanta. Mountain Fresh Creamery at Clermont bottles on the farm, but be clear on what it is: non-homogenized and pasteurized, not raw. Riverview Farms at Ranger sells heritage breed pastured pork and grassfed beef at Atlanta farmers markets and through a meat CSA.
