Bloom Farm sits at Avoca, roughly forty-five minutes southwest of Omaha. It opens for the fall and not much else — pumpkins, gourds, and rows of zinnias you cut yourself.
The cafe is housed in a restored one-room schoolhouse, with a mercantile alongside it. Admission is charged during pumpkin season, so it’s an afternoon you plan rather than a stop you make.
