Old Baker Farm sits at Harpersville, about thirty miles southeast of Birmingham, and it runs on the seasons. The pumpkin patch opens late September and goes through October — hayrides, a corn maze, the farm animals, and cotton you can pick out of the field yourself.
Christmas trees start the day after Thanksgiving and run daily, nine to five, through Christmas Eve. There is a summer shindig in August besides.
School groups come out on field trips. The farm keeps its own directions page, and it is worth reading before you set the GPS: 184 Furrow Lane is the physical address, and the Farmingdale Road address you may find elsewhere is mail only.
